A senior who loves books, coffee shops, Jesus, and art, is always my kind of senior. 

When I met Makenna and her momma, I knew we’d get along great. Makenna’s old soul and kind and sweet heart, coupled with her momma’s outgoing and bubbly personality, made for  a senior session full of depth and soul and two people full of ideas. I love when my seniors and their parents are just as excited for their sessions as I am! It just sparks my creativity even more and makes the day so fun for everyone. 

We had Makenna’s session at the beginning of August. She wanted moody, art-sy photos (Pinterest worthy!) and of course wanted to incorporate some of her passions- Coffee shops, books, sketching, her puppies, softball, and Jesus. It was an insanely hot day (the hottest of the week!) but she braved it like a champ, and her sweet momma even got some great behind-the-scenes shots of the entire evening!

I think these pictures have a special place in my heart not just because Makenna is so beautiful inside and out, but because I admire her so much. She knows she is a daughter of the King, and because of that, she knows who she is. I love that senior pictures not only can show who you are during this time of your life, but they also provide an experience that allows you to express your likes and dislikes and really own who you are as a person.  

Makenna my dear, you are seriously such an inspiration! You have been gifted in more ways in one, and I really think these photos showcase everything that you are. Joyful, goofy, fun, wise, deep, artistic, sporty, and down to earth. You have it all! Cannot wait to see where God takes you after high school. Thank you so much for letting me capture your senior year.
