At the end of our time together, you'll walk out of the studio, take a deep sigh, settle into your body and think,

Hello! I'm Makayla, and I'm so excited that you're here and considering doing this session for yourself.
I'm a 28 year old, 5' nothing hippy at heart who loves the Lord, gardening, hosting, working out, and screaming my lungs out at a good rock concert. If you're familiar with the enneagram then I'm an enneagram 8, & am often told I'm "too passionate" or "too open"- but I believe in no such thing! I use my energy, my directness, and my empathy to make every client who walks through my studio doors feel at home and like they've modeled their entire lives. When you work with me, you'll be amazed at just HOW comfortable you feel (yes, even when you're naked and in front of my lens, even if you are the shyest human on the planet!)
Over the last decade I've been able to love on thousands of women through my photography business, and I hope that I get the chance to work with you this year! My mission is to help every person I work with feel safe, at home, and to know that they are so loved.
When I'm not in my studio or editing at my desk, you can find me baking sourdough, pulling weeds in my garden, online shopping for yet ANOTHER David Ausin Rose, dancing with my 2 year old and husband, or crowd surfing at a Hot Mulligan concert. Life is meant to be LIVED with joy and purpose. So you've booked your session- Now what? The butterflies are kicking up a storm in your tummy and you're already starting to wonder if you can back out or change your mind about this.
What do I wear? I'm not a model. How am I going to pose? Will I be awkward?
These are all totally normal concerns 99% of my clients have! And why consultations are such a vital part of my process.
Right as these thoughts start bombarding you, your phone pings. "Welcome to Boudoir by Kayla!" An email with your client welcome packet is waiting for you, filled with details on how to prepare, what to expect, ideas for your session, and where to shop. Not to mention, a link to schedule your consultation as soon as you'd like!
Phew! Okay, I feel better already.
Several weeks later, you arrive at the studio for the first time. Snacks await you as I shake your hand and give you a warm hug. Before long we talk and go over your questionnaire together. You're meeting this stranger for the first time but as I listen to your story intently, it really feels like we've known each other forever.
Man, this girl is EXCITED and has some ideas I hadn't even thought of! She really puts thought into all of this.
Shortly after you leave your consultation, you get another email with all the ideas we discussed. You may have some shopping to do, but you're actually so excited for it!
This is going to be so fun. I don't even know what I was so nervous about. Let's do this!
YOUR CONSULTATION

It's the morning of your session, and those gosh darn butterflies are back again! You do one final scan through the session details list I sent you. Oooh yes, my white button up! Almost forgot that, glad I looked one last time at the email Makayla sent me.
As you arrive at the studio, music and a high, energetic welcome greets your ears from around the corner.
"Hiiiii! Oh my goodness, come in come in! Are you so ready for this??"
You follow me to the hair and makeup area where an artist is all set up and waiting for you. I grab your items and start hanging them up while you hop in a chair and are handed a comforting beverage.
You close your eyes and take a deep breath. As the brush tickles across your face, you settle in and relax.
An hour and a half later, you spin around and look in the mirror. Your jaw drops- That's ME??? Wow. Can I just have a makeup artist come do my makeup every day??"
You step into your first outfit of the day as I lead you into the boudoir room and get to work. Before you have time to think about any fears or insecurities, I'm posing you and yelling "YASSS QUEEN!" and showing you a few back of the camera sneak peeks that blow you away.
We laugh, dance, & your back is a little sore, but before you know it 2 hours is up. I take one last look at my camera with a contended sigh and look at you. "I think we got them all, don't you agree??" You nod & laugh, dazed that one human could move so quickly, but so proud of yourself & excited to see the final photos. Man, that was a blast! I feel like we got so many good ones. I already want to do that again!

Just an hour or so after you leave the studio, your phone goes off. Some sneak peeks I wanted to send you!
You sit there heart racing as you look at the images staring back at you. Totally unedited, all you can think and wonder is "That is ME??"
When you open the door to the studio next, it's time to see your images. You're so anxious you can hardly stand it! You settle on the couch as I press play and a slideshow begins. As image after image flashes by you, you can't stop yourself from reacting-
"WOW!!!" "MAKAYLA!" "Oh man, THAT'S hot!" "Oooh I love that one..."
As the final image fades away, you don't even know what to say. You knew that at least a few would be good but THIS MANY? How will I ever choose my favorites??
We sit down and over the next hour go through your images together. You flip back through products, eyeing that glass box filled to the brim with prints and admiring the thick pages on the lay flat album. You had some inkling of what you wanted in mind, but seeing the photos solidifies it. I point out some of my suggestions and personal faves as you start narrowing down your favorites.
Before you know it, we've picked out your final images. PHEW! That wasn't easy, but easier than I expected. And didn't take that long, either!
I write up your invoice and let you review it before sending it over. Now it's just time to wait for your final photos to be wrapped and delivered into your hands!
Your REveal

A few weeks after your reveal, you open your email to find exciting news:
"Hurray! Christmas came early- your prints are here!"
You can hardly wait. After we've decided on the best time for you to stop by and pick up your prints, you head over to the studio excitedly.
Hand wrapped by yours truly and waiting for you with special care, you open your prints like a kid on Christmas. As you flip through your album and all your physical keepsakes, it's like you're looking at your images for the first time all over again. You have them on your phone and have looked at them over and over but there's just something about having them in your hands that transforms them and makes them feel even more beautiful and special.
I hug you goodbye but promise to catch up with you soon, and let you know there's a little thank you card on the front that you can read later in private.
Back home, you just have to look at everything again. As you read through your thank you card and admire your images all over again, you smile with tears in your eyes and think:

Because my experience is so customized, there's no set investment after paying your $575 sitting fee. Every client I work with has unique wants and needs, and together we'll find what will be best for you!
That said, on average, most boudoir clients invest about $2900 in their final artwork and images. This of course is just an average, and if you'd like to get a better idea of your total investment and the product offerings I have, just fill out a contact form below and I will send it to you ASAP!
When you work with me, your only job is to love on yourself like you'd love on your best friend, and let me and my team take care of the rest.
