FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The sitting fee is a non-refundable retainer that includes your entire experience! It reserves your spot on the calendar for your initial in-person consultation, the photo session date itself, and your ordering session after that. This also includes professional hair and makeup, a welcome packet, access to my private studio, a personal mood/styling board, and my time for location scouting, shooting, and editing! 

No physical or digital products are included in the sitting fee. At Makayla Madden Photography, we specialize in a full service experience, which means that from beginning to end I am by your side, ensuring that our contact does not end with me editing images and just throwing them to you through cyberspace. Life is already busy, and the last thing you need to worry about after going through all this planning for your session is where to print your images and the best way to display these moments! After your session we will sit down together and you'll get to pick out your favorite images to order. After that, I'm here to handle all those details- Ordering your prints, getting them framed, delivering your final products into your hands!

THE BEST PART! Jk, but seriously- I can't decide if I love shooting more or watching your reactions to your photos. Approximately 2-3 weeks after your session we'll meet up at your place or at the studio, pop open some bubbly, and sit down and watch a short highlight video on the big screen. From there,  the fun begins! We'll walk through your entire gallery together, and go back through products and pricing to discuss what you'd like to take home with you. This is your chance to pick out your favorite moments, make any notes on what you want the final edits to look like, and place your order! I'll go home and take care of all the not-so-fun stuff, editing and placing your order, and your prints will be on their way!

Absolutely! For each print ordered, you'll receive a matching web-sized digital image for online sharing. High resolution digital images with a print release are also available ala carte or in certain packages, so you can definitely have your images to share on social media and with family and friends!

Specific pricing for prints and various packages will be discussed at our consultation, but I can give you a quote upon request!  You can also check out my product page to get an idea of what is currently offered. On average, my clients spend around $2500+ on their images (even the ones who say they only want a few photos!), and I promise we are worth every penny. That being said, I don't require any minimum investment, so what you spend will 100% be up to you! 

I always say "The subject is only as awkward as their photographer." While I know all my clients are KNOCKOUTS and so amazing, I promise you right now that no one you see is an actual professional model! They are every day people just like yourself, who also had the same fears and concerns. So to answer your questions- YES! I and my associate photographers are all very directive, encouraging, and goofy when shooting. We will pose you in the best ways, get the best angles, and make you feel confident and comfortable during our session, so you can see that you are in fact NOT awkward. We'll play music, have fun, and you'll look at yourself when you see your photos and think: "Dang, maybe I AM a model after all!" :) 

While I can’t speak for other photographers and how they run their business, I personally believe that pictures are so much more than a smile and a good snapshot. The pictures we take at Makayla Madden Photography are art- and YOU are the main piece! I know so many people that get digital images and they just sit on the computer for years and years. You and your loved ones deserve to be on a wall, proudly displayed, and made into a keepsake for generations to come. Because of our full-service business model, we're able to take on fewer clients each month, ensuring that we give you our BEST energy when working together. Not only have I found the best labs and vendors for my products, but I love seeing my client's reactions at their gallery-reveals, I love being able to hand-wrap print orders and delivery them in person, and I LOVE the friendships that develop between us because we get so close during the whole process. 

I most certainly do! For those wanting to work their portrait investment into their monthly budgets, I offer up to 6-9 month payment plans, I just ask for a minimum of 20% of your total print order down at ordering, and then we can customize a payment plan that works best for you. 

ABSOLUTELY! I can travel to you or I have many clients who choose to travel to Boise to shoot with us. Travel fees will be quoted before booking, and all consultations and ordering sessions happen online via Zoom calls, so you can still get the full-service experience, from the comfort of your home! (And bonus points: No pants required!) ;)
