When Jill first called me about doing her daughter’s senior pictures and I gave her a run down of my process, I just knew even without having met them yet that we were going to make a great fit. Not only was Jill open and friendly, but she let me know how she was so glad that I offered prints and a full service experience, so she wouldn’t have to worry about a thing.
A week later when Brooke walked into the coffee shop for her consult and her big beautiful smile lit up the room, that’s when I knew even more so that we were going to make some magic with her senior pictures. And boy, did we ever.
Both Brooke and Jill really wanted to do two separate shoots- one at the tail-end of summer, and one in the fall. I recommended that for summer we keep her pictures VERY natural and minimal in terms of hair and makeup. I wanted to show off her gorgeous freckles, her raw beauty, and felt it would match even more so with the soccer pics we wanted to take. Then for fall we would do the more dolled up look!
We spent a beautiful summer evening taking pictures at her favorite Dutch Bros (where nearly all the baristas know her by name!), with her sweet puppy Bear, in her soccer uniform, and all over Kuna! It was easily one of my favorite and best senior sessions I’d ever done, but most of that was because my subject was so beautiful, funny, sweet, and down for whatever ideas I had.
Love you so much, Brooke! Thank you for being so amazing and such a blessing.
Stay tuned for the second half of Brooke’s session to hit the blog here in a couple of weeks!

Do you mind me asking how you edit your photos? (Is there a specific Lightroom filter you use?) They’re absolutely stunning <3
Hi Emma!
I use a custom preset in lightroom! Thank you so much!!
I am an aspiring photographer and I was wondering how you shoot in manual? Do you try to start under exposed and brighten up in editing?
Warm greetings Makayla,
Those are lovely shots! Did you use a flash in these shots?
