I first met Abbie when she was just 8 years old, so it was pretty surreal taking her senior pictures 10 years later. 

As I’ve said so many times before, I love being able to capture who people really are in my work, and this young woman was no exception. Her parents were my 6th grade teachers back in the day, and so I remember when Abbie used to waltz in after school, her giant backpack hanging down past her little legs, with the biggest smile on her face as she greeted her mom and dad. A few years later, I had some serious Deja Vu when I TA’ed for HER 6th grade class back in that same classroom, except this time she was sitting in the desks as a student. So you can imagine how it must have felt when we went out last month to adventure downtown, this time to capture her senior photos! 

While it’s pretty bittersweet to realize how fast time really does fly by, what I can say is that all these years, I have always known Abbie as the sweetest, kindest soul. She is strong-willed and fiery, yet has a huge and soft heart. Not to mention, her smile lights up any room she walks into! She is also an INCREDIBLE dancer for Mountain View (we may or may not have gotten some battle scars from our session when she tried to show me some of her moves; take note, do not try to stall on a cement hill, haha!) And I’ve been so blessed to grow up with her and her family in my life. After her senior session, my husband and I met up with her parents and little brother for dinner at the RAM to celebrate and catch up. I love when my senior sessions are just one big, fun, hangout date! 

I could go on and on about how thankful I am that I was able to capture these precious moments of Abbie, but I’ll probably stop before I tear up like her dad did at her gallery reveal (Sweetest moment EVER, btw). I just adore and appreciate you, Harris family, more than words can say! Abbie, you have grown into an amazing young lady, and I cannot wait to see where this next year takes you as you graduate and go off to college. You are going to be a force to reckon with! Love you guys so very much.
