“For we walk by faith, and not by sight.” If I hadn’t taken her pictures myself, I never would have guessed that she was only a senior. 

Although she had to grow up fast at a very young age, Lexi exemplifies what it means to not let circumstances define you and continue to praise and worship Jesus. 

Our day together started out at a little coffee shop in Eagle, ID, where I learned more about her story and testimony while we ate breakfast. We talked about lighter things as well- our favorite music and school and how hard it is to hang with people your own age when you feel a thousand years older sometimes. 

We then spent the rest of our Saturday morning reading books, playing in leaves, trying not to get too wet, flipping our hair, and laughing despite the drizzle that continued throughout the day. It was so encouraging to spend time with a young woman who is so strong, so funny, so smart, and so full of light. Her smile and laugh instantly light up a room, and her laid back personality made our session so freaking FUN! 

A few weeks later when I came over to the Wright family’s home out in Emmett, my heart swelled when I saw how much she and her parents loved all the images. Even more rewarding was when I was able to drop off Lexi’s prints to her mom and dad, and hearing her squeal of excitement as she flipped through the album they had ordered. 

My seniors hold such a dear place in my heart, knowing that these pictures not only mean so much to them but to their parents as well. Being able to look at their daughter who will never be this young or this old again- having moments that preserve that special time when they are so grown up yet still their babies at the same time. I’m so excited for your future Lexi, and what a world changer you already are and will continue to be!
