Almost a year ago, Jordan approached me about doing a boudoir session. She wanted to do it all for herself, to capture the beauty of her body as a young and healthy woman, and that is probably one of the best reasons I have ever heard from one of my clients!
Like most, she was a little nervous at first, but when we met for coffee before her session to go over outfits, she told me she was mostly excited to do this. She knew it would be a great confidence boost and she couldn’t wait to have these pictures to look back on for the rest of her life.
Being only the third boudoir session I had ever done at the time, we spent a lot of time in the studio experimenting with light and trying out different things. It was so fun to think outside of the box and create so many stunning images! Some of my favorites were shot in a red lingerie set that she had bought at Victoria’s Secret. Being so close to Valentine’s Day, it was absolutely perfect and so fitting! The whole morning was just so much fun, Jordan laughed and giggled and was the perfect subject- a natural in front of the camera and great at taking direction.
After her session, we had such a fun night drinking sparkling cider and stuffing ourselves with lemon cake as we went through all her pictures. It was SO difficult but we finally picked out her top favorites to put together in a beautiful album! However, it was her kind words following everything that really made me glow-
“Hey lady!
Was just thinking about you and I just wanted to let you know how thankful I am for you doing my photos and also to let you know how freakin’ talented you are- as you already know ;). I have a book that I can cherish forever and makes me feel SO GOOD about myself…. I can’t wait for the day that I can give it to my husband!! So thank you so much, and I can’t wait to do future shoots with you. YOU’RE AMAZING!! <3 xo!”
Even though it was a year ago, it seriously feels like just yesterday that we got to work together. Boy, how time flies! Thank you so much Jordan, your session just made me that much more sure that boudoir was something I wanted to pursue even more this year, and some of my favorite images of all time came from our time together.
