There’s nothing like two young married people in love. 

As a newly married woman myself, being able to celebrate Josh and Shawnee’s 1 year anniversary by capturing their love was so exciting and heart warming. I always get a little nervous when other photographer’s ask me to take their photos, but Shawnee is one of the sweetest souls you’d ever meet and I know we would get some magical moments! During our session, we talked about how fast time flies, how Josh and Shawnee couldn’t believe it’s already been a year since they got married, and a little more about how the two had met. 

As we spent the evening at the Swan Falls dam, I let the two of them just spend time together and captured their natural chemistry. We swatted away flies and took frequent breaks to cool down in the car as we waited for the sun to finish setting, and I loved every second of it! 

It makes me so happy to see two Godly people in a relationship that is so full of joy, love, and respect. Shawnee and I work at the hospital together taking photos of newborns and I think one of my favorite parts about working with her is when I get to hear that brief phone call she usually has in the late afternoon, catching her husband up on her day and telling him how much she loves him. It’s those little things that make all the difference in a marriage, and I can only hope that as these two continue to spend each year with each other that they remember to keep doing those little things to remind themselves of why they fell in love in the first place!
