And that’s exactly what we decided to do for Charlie.
Just days before school began, Charlie, me, and her friend Payton all loaded up in her big beautiful newly washed jeep and headed to the mountains for her senior pictures. This spot is actually a favorite of my dad’s for hunting season and just a few weeks before Charlie’s session we ended up taking our family up here for the weekend to camp. The moment I laid eyes on the wildflower fields and the golden sun setting over the mountain peaks, I knew we had to come here.
Charlie’s mom’s biggest request was to find a way to incorporate her Jeep and love of water into her senior photos. Just a 30 minute drive from this location, I planned on ending her session at the Shore Lodge at blue hour to capture the dusty pinks and blues of the lake while Charlie splashed her feet in the water and sat on the doc. (Side note- If you’re ever looking for a lovely staycation or getaway near Boise, this place is IT!)
While it made for a long day (10 hours total, 3 hour drive each way!), we could not have asked for better weather or a better drive. And as luck would have it, the road got shut down the NEXT DAY for months on end with no warning. I shudder to think what would have happened if we had scheduled just one day later!
For my fellow mountain lovers, you’re going to swoon over these.
