Boise Senior Photos- Kate, Class of 2021

Horse girls everywhere hold on to your hats, because these senior photos set in the countryside of Boise, Idaho are about to BLOW YOU AWAY.

When Kate told me she wanted to channel all the country girl vibes into her senior photos, I of COURSE said yes. The rolling hills of farmland and endless apple orchards in Caldwell, Idaho where Kate grew up were the perfect setting, and my dear friend Nikki at Lovely Hollow Farm graciously allowed us to shoot at their place for some flower farm photos. Nothing could keep us down, until…

Come shoot day, the forest fires in Oregon, California, and other surrounding states had left a dark haze over all of Boise. I looked at the air quality forecast with angst as nothing showed signs of clearing up, and. Kate’s bubbly and outgoing personality practically demanded that her senior photos take place on a sunny day to highlight these qualities, so I texted her mom and we made a last second decision to reschedule. I was nervous that the flowers would be gone if we moved too far out, but I knew that lighting was going to be the most important part of this day for Kate!

In the end, the reschedule was for the best. We ended up out at Lovely Hollow Farm (where flowers were still in bloom, YAY!), in a local orchard, and ended at Kate’s neighbor’s place to shoot with their horse, all the while the sun shone brightly and gave us the most gorgeous golden hour I think I’ve ever seen.

Now the millions of mosquito bites? Couldn’t be helped I supposed, but they were still worth every second.
