When Isabella told me she not only loved florals, soft pinks, was a dancer, but that her middle name was also “Rose”m I leapt at the chance to suggest shooting at the Rose Garden downtown.

I was so happy she was on board with my ideas, and that she KNEW what she loved and what she wanted, because it made the vision for her senior portraits that much more clear and better! It’s always a beautiful thing when creatives can collab together and that’s honestly always my goal for my seniors- that they can bring ideas to the table and together we can build a senior session unique to them.

We started off Isabella’s senior session at the Rose Garden, and also had the joy of her parents joining us for some family photos! We then bumped music and scooted around downtown Boise to find all the greenery and flower spots still in bloom in early October.

To end our sunny October evening, we went to the military reserve to capture some photos as the sun set. All our pictures near the end of the night can only be described as a MOOD. “Vanilla Twilight” by Owl City i what comes to mind as Isabella laid in the soft grasses, and the hills turned to gentle hues of cotton candy pinks, blues, and yellows.

As we headed back to the car, we were walking between the trees and the sun had bathed the entire canyon in this soft glow. The autumn trees were casting pinks and golds onto everything, and even though I had told Isabella we were DONE, I asked her if it was okay if we could please take one more photo of her in a dancing pose, but barefoot.

That last image left me speechless. I told her for YEARS I’d always wanted to capture that magical time after sunset when the world was in this dream state, but had never been able to do so until today.

And the cherry on top? I got to take Isabella to West Side Drive In to refuel and re-charge. We talked about her parents, school, her plans after high school, and bumped Ariana Grande until we arrived back at the studio.

Thank you SO MUCH for letting me capture your senior year Isabella. You are radiant with positivity, grace, love, and such a contemplative spirit. I literally can’t imagine this year without you in it, and am so glad to call you not only a client, but a dear friend!
