Just a few of the things we had at Sam’s senior session last Thursday. Sam’s mom was my language arts teacher several years ago at Kuna High school- it kind of blew my mind when she told me her daughter was now a senior! Time really does fly by quickly. Since Sam really wanted pictures that incorporated her love for art, I met with Alex (the director of the Boise Creative Center) to see if we could use his studio for the first part of our session. The three of us met up at The Creative Center, where Mrs. Lovelady realized she had taught Alex way back in the day. They caught up while Sam pulled out a blank easel, paint, and just began to create something right in front of our eyes.
I think it’s important that Senior photos reflect the person in them (in a non cheesy way) so I snapped away while Sam got lost in her art. As she absentmindedly bit her tongue and her brow furrowed, I watched in amazement as her painting came to life.
Before we left, Sam approached Alex and asked him for some pointers on where would be a good location to host an art gallery for her senior project. Seriously, I think this was easily one of the highlights of the whole day for me!
From there, we explored rooftops, freak alley, Julia Davis Park, and listened to WALKTHEMOON the whole way. Sam has this infectious laugh and smile that stole nearly every shot that we got. I love capturing people that are so naturally beautiful and hilarious like she is.
After the sun began to set, we made our way to Pie Hole to finish off the night and talk life. It was such a wonderful night spent with two amazing women.
Love what you did for my girl and our family, Kayla! Thank you so very much. Proud of your and what you’re doing in life!! ~Anna
So beautiful! Love the write up!
